It is our
policy to reduce, year on year, the key environmental impact this
organisation may have.
This statement
sets out the policy of Haines Painting and Decorating Ltd in
respect of our Painting and Decorating activities in construction
and allied industries and those of our employees and any other
person and contractor under our control whose acts or omissions
may have an adverse effect on the environment.
Its intention is to assist in protecting the environment as
a whole, as well as our personnel whilst at work. We are committed
to continual improvement, we are constantly reviewing our
activities and are currently working towards becoming ISO 14001
Compliant by the end of 2010.
We are
committed to the prevention of pollution and recognise that in
conducting our business we can have an impact on the environment.
For example with regards to vehicle use, paints, varnishes,
solvents, water usage, water pollution and waste materials . We
will always strive to reduce vehicle usage to the minimum, reduce
waste paint by effective planning and timely ordering. Recycle all
waste tins and containers, and dispose of any waste substances in
an environmentally responsible and legal manner.
A copy of the
Policy will be available at our offices during normal office
hours. It is posted on our web site, copies held in each company
vehicle and is available to all interested parties whether or not
directly connected with our activities.
Haines Painting
and Decorating Ltd will take all reasonable measures to ensure
that those persons referred to above are made aware of the
contents of this Policy, the possible effects upon their personal
health & safety and the possible environmental consequences in
the event of any breach of this Policy.
We do this at the initial induction of any personnel and by
ongoing training and awareness Tool Box Talks, team meetings and
via the company news letter.
The company
ensures that all it’s activities are carried out in conformance
with the relevant environmental legislation and in relation to any
other requirements to which the organisation subscribes in
relation to its environmental aspects.
All employees
of Haines Decorating Ltd will at all times be expected to exercise
diligence in ensuring that this policy is adhered to.
This policy and
any associated documentation will be reviewed after changes in
legislation, changes in the structure of the Company, in the light
of additional knowledge or information becoming available, and in
any event annually. We will annually set environmental objectives
and targets which we will monitor and review during monthly
management meetings.
The overall
responsibility for the implementation of this policy is vested in
the undersigned.
